(NYSE: AGR), today announced the kick-off of their Main Street event, a weeklong campaign in which the company will provide no-cost energy efficiency assessments to small businesses across the city, in Greenfield. Seventeen Greenfield small businesses have signed up to particiate in this event to receive a no-cost, no obligation energy efficiency assessment, and Berkshire Gas invites other small businesses in the city to sign up as well.

“Helping our customers make their homes and businesses as energy efficient as possible is a win all around,” said Sue Kristjansson, President and Chief Operating Officer (COO) of Berkshire Gas. “By ensuring the energy our customers consume is put to good use, we help them save money on their gas bill and bring down emissions for us all. I’m glad to see small businesses across Greenfield accept our offer of a no-cost energy efficiency assessment this Earth Week, and I encourage others follow suit so we can make the most of this important campaign.”

“Energy efficiency is an essential tool to promote both sustainability and affordability for our customers,” said Hammad Chaudhry, Senior Manager of Conservation & Load Management at Berkshire Gas. “By participating in this fantastic campaign, business owners across Greenfield receive amazing value – a no-cost comprehensive energy efficiency assessment – that will give them the tools they need to reduce their energy usage in the long term. To see Greenfield businesses fully embrace this important work reflects their commitment to sustainability, and with their partnership as a model, I look forward to more municipal leaders joining in these efforts with our team in the future.”

The energy efficiency campaign with the city of Greenfield is orchestrated by the Avangrid Conservation & Load Management (CLM) team across its electric and gas distribution companies in Massachusetts and Connecticut.
